Vaccinations are one of the cornerstones of preventative pet health. At your annual wellness evaluation, the veterinarian will assess your pet's disease risks and vaccine history and recommend the appropriate vaccinations. During each wellness/vaccine appointment your pet will receive a thorough physical examination, address any concerns and questions you may have, and deworm (with each puppy/kitten vaccine and then based on risk). Here are some of the common diseases that we can help prevent with vaccination:
We recommended all dogs be vaccinated according to the following schedule:
- 1st puppy vaccines between 6-8 weeks of age for Canine Distemper Virus, Adenovirus type 2, Coronavirus (NOT Covid-19), Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus (DA2P, CPV, CV).
- 2nd puppy vaccines between 10-12 weeks of age for DA2P, CPV, CV.
- 3rd puppy vaccines between 14-16 weeks of age for DA2P, CPV, CV, Rabies Virus, and Bordatella (Kennel Cough).
- Annually thereafter for DA2P, CPV, and CV as well as Bordatella if required.
- Rabies vaccination at their 1 year booster then every 3 years.
*At this time we do not offer vaccination for lyme disease or leptospirosis. If you require these vaccinations due to travel to an endemic (high risk) area, we are happy to direct you to a clinic in Edmonton that can provide this service.
We recommend all cats be vaccinated according to the following schedule:
- 1st kitten vaccines between 6-8 weeks of age for Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia (FVRCP) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV).
- 2nd kitten vaccines between 10-12 weeks of age for FVRCP and FeLV.
- 3rd kitten vaccines between 14-16 weeks of age for FVRCP, FeLV, and Rabies.
- Annually thereafter for FVRCP +/- FeLV depending on risk (outdoor cats).
- Rabies vaccination at their 1 year booster then every 3 years.
